Chris Tulipano's Trifecta - Wins Points Title, Most Laps Led, Race Winner of Last Event of Season!

It was a dominating season for Chris Tulipano, a new addition to the RIT league this season who raised the bar for everyone else in the league. Finding victory lane didn't take long at all. The first race of the season at Texas Motor Speedway belonged to him. Chris would go on to win half the events in 2009. That's 8 out of 16 races, and by the time the end of the season came, there was no mathematical way 2nd place Bigfootbuilt could overtake him. His wins didn't just come from having the fastest car, (although that didn't hurt), but he also nailed down pit stops consistently and avoided trouble on the track. Only periodic computer problems in a race or two would bring him down. He ran 80% of the laps all season, and had 4 DNF's but never missed a start.
Otherwise, he would win in dominating fashion at Texas, Pocono, Iowa, Daytona, Daytona Road Course, USA International, Kansas, and Nashville.
The last 2 years have belonged to the rookies! Last year it was Kevin Buchanan. This year belongs to Defile. Who will be introduced to the league next year? Recruiting in RIT is a year-round commitment, so that is why it is important to be on the lookout for new talent during open races. Drivers like Buchanan and Tulipano have motivated the rest of us to try harder, and the results show.
What about next season? The preliminary schedule is to start the season sometime in February, with a preseason in the weeks leading up to it. Chefjohn may possibly have a fixed-setup short season during the winter. More information to come as it becomes available. But until then, the server will be open! Just because the season is over doesn't mean we can't race on Friday and Sunday nights, and rememer, always be on the lookout for new drivers that would be good for the league!
